The ARDMS registration is valid at present in Canada. As far as I know, CARDUP (Canadian Association) is in the process of creating exams, both clinical and practical, and in the future will be the required standard for Academic Institutions (teaching hospitals).
Community echo clinics use their own discretion on registration when they hire, but it is with hope that our government will move forward with the request for regulation in the Echo discipline, and then CARDUP will be the standard registration requirement.
You can view CARDUP (http://www.cardup.org/) on the internet to find information on Canadian registration.
Hope this helps,
